Can Bill Clinton Help Struggling Campaign?

The buzz on social networks is the latest attempt by Hillary Clinton’s campaign to get back into the race. The media pundits have made some remarks about Bill Clinton’s latest sound bytes regarding Hillary Clinton’s candidacy.

He’s brilliant, the statement is highly calculated and intelligent, but people just aren’t receiving the message all that well. Many analysts argue that if not for Bill Clinton’s existence, maybe Hillary Clinton would have a better shot at the presidency. I think it’s just the opposite, it’s because of Bill Clinton that Hillary Clinton has a shot at the presidency. He was a great man, especially from the vantage-point of Democrats, and Hillary Clinton is very different politically and doesn’t shine in public the way he does.

When Al Gore lost the election, I believe part of his downfall was his distancing from President Bill Clinton at the time. Hillary Clinton’s campaign has made great efforts to distance themselves from President Clinton (as much as you possibly could, considering the relationship). Yet, pundits continue to say that Bill Clinton’s presence is too overwhelming, and I think they are fools for it.

It’s the straying from Bill Clinton’s presidency that has killed Hillary Clinton’s campaign. It’s the move towards the conservative side of policy that has hurt Clinton with Democrats. Heck, Hillary Clinton campaigned on the idea that America has veered right and by situating herself in the center she’d be in a good position to catch votes during the general election.

The big problem of course is that Hillary Clinton has to get passed the primaries in order to enjoy her ‘centered’ political stance. The country is pretty tired and disgusted with the GOP over many war issues, political tactics and the propaganda that never ends.

“Support the troops,” indeed.
