Hillary Clinton Needs North Carolina To Pull Off Upset

The media narrative is clear, Hillary Clinton is on a path to make the greatest comeback we’ve seen since the comeback kid was running for President.  Obama supporters are quick to point out that it’s a near impossiblity for Hillary Clinton to pick up more delegates than Barack Obama and the talk of a comeback is just more spin that is inconsistent with the reality of how the primary has unfolded.

We need to roll up our sleeves and get back to being American, says Hillary Clinton.

“You know we embrace the future, we don’t fear it!  We’ve been stalled for.. at least 7 years…” [APPLAUSE]

Hillary Clinton made a speech in North Carolina this morning.  As the pundits are making noise about how this could be the “greatest comeback in over a decade”, Clinton is charged with having to make the perfect pitch to the locals.   In one fell swoop,  Hillary managed to invoke the power of anti-Bush sentiment and subtly imply that Barack Obama’s “hope message” is a form of fear-mongering. It’s an interesting argument, to which I know Barack Obama has frequently responded, “Hillary Clinton says I’m a hope-monger!” Subtle jabs aside, Hillary Clinton’s delivery could not be more perfect.

From a political standpoint, her tone was perfect.  She not only sounded more human, but was a bit more inspirational and hopeful.  Maybe this is Clinton’s way of saying “hey, I too can be the messenger of change and hope, and I can do it without scaring you into a panic.”  It’s a good attempt to change the tone of her campaign that has been under increasing criticism for being too harsh and negative of late.  In fact, just yesterday she received an all-time public opinion low that analysts suggest are attributed to her recent attacks.

Clinton brought up Bush’s failed domestic policies and unpopular presidency and again very quietly alluded to her all-talk-no-action adversary.

“I don’t believe we can afford four more years of that kind of inaction.”

Interestingly enough, in that same breath she managed to take a line from Barack Obama who repeatedly argues that Congress shouldn’t receive better coverage than any other American.

“We will work and achieve universal healthcare and provide… [APPLAUSE] and provide small businesses the same kind of health care options that federal employees enjoy t oday”.

She’s in North Carolina, so her message was a bit on the conservative side, but nothing like Texas and the 3am campaign.  Before concluding, Hillary mentioned exxon mobile’s record profits and the excessive tax breaks that she voted against.   She promises to help us end our addiction to foreign oil, help ease the burden on consumers with respect to gas prices, and says she’ll work on increasing jobs, particularly tens of thousands of “green collar jobs” in North Carolina.

Is the latest political narrative unfolding before our eyes?  Will Hillary Clinton pull off the greatest comeback we’ve seen since the comeback kid himself?

  4. I’m stocking up on bags of rice, dried foods, dried milk, sugar, honey and fruits, a stack of cash is being hoarded, jugs of gas, kerosene, flash lights, batteries, etc. etc. One thing I do know for a fact, I never in my 50 years felt so leary of an uncertain economy. When Clinton was in office I felt at ease, and there is no way I’m banking on an unknown like Obama or McSame McCain. Obama is like putting the gift horse inside the White House. I’ll be prepared, because if Hillary Clinton does NOT get into the White House, I will be eating rice and beans. Good Lord people, wake the heck up!
