Senator Barack Obama swept the caucus states today, continuing his dominance that began with the Iowa caucus. Among the states he claimed today included Louisiana, Nebraska, and Washington State. He also earned delegates in the Virgin Islands and all of his victories were pretty convincing as he generally picked up two votes for every vote Clinton did.
Tonight, Barack Obama made a speech in Virgina explaining his successful sweep of Clinton.
“The stakes are too high and the challenges are too great to play the same old Washington game with the same old Washington players and expect a different result,” Obama told a hugely pro-Obama crowd of Democrats at the Jefferson-Jackson dinner in Richmond, Virginia.
Geez, I wonder who he could possibly be referring to! It’s a convenient argument because it’s a good swipe at Clinton and McCain without having to actually call out their names.
“People want to turn the page. They want to write a new chapter in American history.”
It’s an accurate statement, it’s not to say Hillary Clinton is incapable of change but she’s been successfully painted as part of the “politics of old.”
