Super-Delegates: Do not fail the American people!

Published by Fred Soto• March 25th, 2008 RSS News Feed

Every morning I wake up to read the news in hopes of something positive happening around the world.  More and more I have felt a resentment and anger towards my country, specifically the dysfunctional government and those in charge.

On the national stage, it is the leadership of our nation that becomes synonymous with American identity.   Democrats are doing their part to shake my confidence in the future beyond the nervous wreck that I am now over Republican leadership.   Despite the chaos, each day I think maybe  there is a chance that the United States will wake up from this slumber.

One thing is certain, if super delegates determine the 2008 election, the United States will never be the same.  While Clinton supporters may urge Super Delegates to do the right thing (yeah right) and intervene, I urge Super Delegates to do the right thing and stay as far away from the Democratic primary as possible.  Stay home, vote the will of your constituency, but whatever you do: DO NOT ABUSE YOUR POWER.

Drama Among Democrats A Hint Of Things To Come?

Democrats were supposed to be the anointed ones in 2008, they were supposed to change everything.  If you’ve been paying attention to the Democratic party, it’s clear that the direction of our country isn’t going to change a whole lot.  This fact  leaves many people like myself wondering why we should put our faith in Democrats if we know they’re destined to continue wrecking our nation the way Republicans did under Bush.

Consider Democratic party politics:  the Democratic party has become a national farce, mainly because of poor leadership and a failure to be honest about the state of our nation, the outlook of the party and divisiveness that has overwhelmed the American people over the years.  It’s not easy to look as bad as Democrats have over the primary election cycle, especially because Republicans carry the burden of possibly the biggest failure in all of American history — the Iraq War. Even so, take a look at the headlines because whatever Republicans are doing, the media isn’t talking much about Iraq, the trillions of dollars of debt, millions of dead Iraqi citizens or the four thousand dead American soldiers to go along with the three thousand civilians that died at the World Trade Center on September 11th.

Super Delegates Choosing Our President Would Demoralize American Citizens

Most Democrats call bullshit on the line of spin that suggests super delegates selecting our next President is a good idea.  That said, this line of rhetoric is all the rage among Hillary Clinton supporters, because frankly,  it’s the only hand she has left to play.

I can tell you with certainty that the rest of the nation is feeling quite cheated and frustrated with the current primary situation in a way we’ve all felt under President Bush’s eight years of horror.  Any reminders of President Bush of course could really hurt the party, but Democrat’s saving grace is John “100 years war” McCain is sitting on the other side.  For this reason, I suggest that super delegates wouldn’t only be choosing for the Democratic party, they’d be choosing the 2008 president.

While analysts and media pundits need something to talk about, that really isn’t the case on this site.  There is zero doubt in my mind that another Republican will not take the helm to continue the agenda that has failed Americans for far too long.  It’s inconceivable, a political impossibility and the only reason that Republicans are even holding out hope is that they have become adept at smearing people like Hillary Clinton and as for Barack Obama, well,… he’s black.

  2. Howdy,
as a denverite I have to say this entire situation regarding the democrats will, hopefully, clear up before the convention.

Super delegates can’t choose ron paul? Also, would you think his policy regarding iraq (pull them out, as our objectives have been acheived) is feasible?

I like, in this post, the fair assessment of the republican situation. 100 years war is a hilarious nickname for mccain.
