According to the NY Times, the world’s largest uranium producer, Cameco, has told the Canadian nuclear regulator that its refinery might have leaked uranium, arsenic and fluorides into Lake Ontario. I probably wouldn’t have posted this link, but I think something needs to be done about regulating harmful reagents and chemicals in the world. The United States is probably the biggest offender of uranium exposure to citizens worldwide and we shouldn’t turn a blind eye to this very serious problem.
