Hillary Clinton’s coattails disappoint

It isn’t the size that counts, or is it?

Democrat leaders are quietly concerned about Hillary Clinton’s effect on the national elections. The main concern is that she may give independent voters and Republicans a reason to leave home on election day and vote out of fear of Hillary.

From the NY Times

”I’m not sure it would be fatal in Indiana, but she would be a drag” on many candidates, said Democratic state Rep. Dave Crooks of Washington, Ind.

Hillary Clinton is popularly unpopular

Despite Clinton’s short political coattails some Democratic leaders and strategists said they would support her fight for the nomination — despite their fears.

”The argument with Hillary right now in some of these red states is she’s so damn unpopular,” said Andy Arnold, chairman of the Greenville, S.C., Democratic Party. ”I think Hillary is someone who could drive folks on the other side out to vote who otherwise wouldn’t.”
