Dirty Larry - Hustler’s magazine shaking up American Politics
The king of smut is on the offensive against smut consuming public officials!
“Larry Flynt’s ongoing investigation into the dirty secrets of prominent elected officials has exposed another hypocrite,” Hustler said.
Vitter, R-Louisiana, admitted Monday his phone number turned up in records of an escort service run by Deborah Jeane Palfrey. He did not admit to having sex with a prostitute, though his records stem back from before 2004 when he won his Senate seat.
“This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible,” Vitter said in a statement given to reporters Monday night. ”
Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and from my wife in confession and marriage counseling.”
Palfrey was indicted in March on charges of money laundering and racketeering stemming from her business, Pamela Martin & Associates, which prosecutors allege was involved in prostitution. Palfrey has denied the charges, saying she operated a legitimate escort service.
In an effort to raise money for her legal defense, Palfrey tried to sell a telephone list containing names of more than 10,000 clients. A judge blocked her from selling the information, but she provided some of the documents to media outlets.
Republican moral compass shattered?
Palfrey looks to be a nasty thorn on the Republicans side, especially given their penchant for invoking God and religion against “Liberals” who lack a moral compass.
Sizing up the 2008 Elections
I’d hypothesize about how this might affect the 2008 elections, but Bush and Iraq already took care of that for the Democrats. It doesn’t look like Ron Paul will get the nod for the GOP, and that being the case, I can’t see another Republican in the oval office for several decades. Think about it: Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama will almost certainly both serve as American presidents, it is just a matter of when.
In case you didn’t catch the latest distraction and spin on the case:
An attorney for Deborah Jeane Palfrey, the alleged “D.C. Madam,” rejected accusations Monday that releasing a list of phone numbers used to dial Palfrey’s high-end escort service amounted to blackmail.
Why are we concerned with ‘blackmail’ when we have U.S. senators soliciting whores? Oh, I have an idea: lets distract the public from the real issue at hand and talk about how cheap and dirty the tactics are of those anti-Bush unAmerican hippies!
“I call that due process of law,” said Montgomery Blair Sibley, who represents Palfrey in a civil matter. “Why didn’t we start in October if we were trying to blackmail people for money?”
Black mail subtly implies that the disturbing activity of our Senators is not true and they are being held as victims for by a Madam Palfrey. Pretty soon it’ll turn into a political thing, where the activity is justified because [insert other party] wants to smear our good name. It is time to be accountable for your actions in Washington! You were elected to represent the American people, not to break laws and then later assert you are not susceptible to the laws of our nation.
Tisk, tisk.
