Bono opened the door and now every nitwit celebrity and reality show half-celebrity will be saying “f*ck” on the slightest provocation. The networks say it’s up to you to decide what shows to watch, so… good luck figuring out what to let your kids watch.
Sometimes a properly placed f-bomb can do a lot of good in a conversation, especially ones intended to incite laughter. As far as kids go, if you are monitoring heavily what they watch on TV after the age of 13, you’ve got bigger problems! Children in school will hear more expletives in one day than may ’slip out’ on Television in a year, despite loosening federal standards.
Al Gore is grateful to those who have a good opinion of him, but you… you don’t seem ready for reason, you know, reason, that process that yields a good opinion of Al Gore.
President Bush was never too good for the people, because lets face it — he is very very dumb. However, he did lead the ‘UnAmerican’ Firing Squads to kick off the 21st century.

“We even have a mass grave now in the university. Imagine flesh and body parts — we buried that here at Mustansiriya University. Imagine how bad our situation was” - an Iraqi student “who would give only his first name, Saif, for fear of retribution.”
“after the Jihadists seize power and ally with Iran”? You really think that is al Qaeda’s goal? Or the Sunni insurgents? My sense is that a withdrawal would mean a fight by Sunni Jihadists against Shiite Jihadists. The war between fundamentalisms would be bloody, but it would also change the narrative.
It would reveal that the West is not the fundamental problem in the Islamic world.
Republicans will have a hard time escaping Iraq for the unforeseeable future, unfortunately.
Islam. The only people who can fight this war are Muslims. And the only people who can win it are Muslims. We may be unable to prevent some collateral damage from the conflict. But my guess is that we are maximizing collateral damage to U.S. lives and failing to move the ball forward by occupying Iraq for the indefinite future.
We are going to “lose” no matter which way you slice it.
Old people in Politics and Sex
Did Fred Thompson go a step too far? Jim Henley dissents. Megan doesn’t have a problem. Neither do I. She’s forty. She should be punished for being hot? But then, I’m no Christian. Perhaps the real issue in this campaign is not the candidate’s wife/husband, but his tan.
I can understand if Fred Thompson was seen with a 18 year old girl in pigtails, but this is a fully grown woman! 40 years for God sake, are you kidding me? If she were 25, aside from an opinion on motive of the young vixen, I’d be telling people to mind their business.
