Treason, Azzan al-Amriki threatens the United States again
A few months ago I brought up Azzan al-Amriki after he released a video threatening to attack the United States.  The video went mostly ignored by the media. The former American discussed an attack against the United States far worse than the September 11th attack. In 2004, he was convicted of treason and a one million dollar reward was placed on any information that would lead to his capture.
Serious threats are sometimes dismissed, evidenced by the lack of attention that the media was giving this threat. The White House ignored the threat, and only hinted that they had a “gut feeling” we would see a terrorist attack soon. Of course, this creates the problem with our government “crying wolf too many times” because it undermines their credibility.
Other press statements suggested the government and media had no idea the U.S. was even in danger of such attacks, few mentioned the threat.   Fox News made sure to do their part, so kudos to them for looking out. I complain about their highly partisan reporting, but sometimes fear and paranoia in the media and government can be useful as long as it’s not done too often or for political gain.

Below is a NY Times article that discusses the latest threat by Al Qaida:
Today the NY Times reported Azzan al-Amriki’s second threat this summer:
CAIRO, Egypt (AP) — An American member of al-Qaida threatened foreign diplomats and embassies across the Islamic world in a new video Sunday, saying they would targeted as ‘’spy dens.”
The 1 hour, 17 minute video also featured a computer-animated recreation of a March 2006 suicide attack that killed U.S. diplomat David Foy in Karachi, Pakistan, and testimony from a man who claimed to be the bomber.
”We shall continue to target you, at home and abroad, just as you target us, at home and abroad, and these spy dens and military command and control centers from which you plotted your aggression against Afghanistan and Iraq,” said Adam Gadahn, a Californian also known as Azzan al-Amriki.
Gadahn was charged with treason in the United States last fall and has been wanted since 2004 by the FBI, which is offering a $1 million reward for information leading to his arrest or conviction. He last appeared in a video in May, threatening the United States with an attack worse than those of Sept. 11, 2001.
