If you’re a conservative, remember the famous words of Sun-Tzu “Keep your friends close, and your enemy closer” Liberals, pull out your ACLU card and hum the “Battle Hymn of the Republic.”

Summary: Martha Burke was critical of President Bush and the Right Wing during an Interview at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. That shouldn’t surprise you, considering the source, but take a look at what women feminists are thinking.

The 21st century women’s movement

“Women have lost their rights “by the right wing and some so-called progressive law makers” who have stopped everything we fought so hard for in the 70s.” - Martha Burke, 5/25/07 at the press club in Washington D.C.

Women’s movement in Afghanistan

Rudy Giuliani and ‘his kind’ said:

“why don’t the feminists pick up a worthy cause like sticking up for the women of Afghanistan?

Martha Burke replied by attacking conservatives

On President Bush and Republicans

“we were supporting the women of Afghanistan well before Bush” was messing things up in the White House and overseas” and we could spell Afghanistan!”

On Nancy Pelosi

“Nancy Pelosi said [to herself] my job is to get this bill through the house but I don’t believe in it and I’m not going to vote for it. 51% of women saw having a woman speaker as very important, men did not see much of an impact.”

Why did the women’s equality movement make the front page news?Because “This has to be in the constitution,” says Burke who mentioned that she believed 90% of the people believe in this amendment. Oops, lawmakers may not agree! Martha argues that we are seeing improvements

On Hillary Clinton

“All of the democratic candidates you see in the debate are better than the Republican candidates, for women! For the first time we have a host of great options that will help the women’s movement cause.”

Q: How would you assess Hillary Clinton’s marriage and its impact on her prospect of winning the election?

Why don’t we ask Rudy Giuliani? - Martha Burke

Martha Burke on Walmart suit, employment discrimination case

Justice Roberts and Alito are pro-corporation, we run the risk of setting the woman’s movement back decades if the case reaches the supreme court.

Largest gender discrimination lawsuit in U.S. history

Today, was a great victory for equal rights, women workers at Wal-Mart, and Americans. In a 2-1 decision, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a 2004 federal judge’s decision to let the nation’s largest class-action employment discrimination lawsuit go to trial. The suit claims that as many as 1.5 million current and former female employees at Wal-Mart earned less than men and were bypassed for promotions.

Here’s what the court said, AP NEWS - Court says Wal-Mart must face bias trial:

“Plaintiff’s expert opinions, factual evidence, statistical evidence and anecdotal evidence present significant proof of a corporate policy of discrimination and support plaintiff’s contention that female employees nationwide were subjected to a common pattern and practice of discrimination,” the court wrote.

Martha Burke concludes with:

“We treat gender discrimination as something less than racial discrimination and we need to change that.” She continued by asking the support of men, women and children everywhere to start looking at the problem and helping to solve the women’s crisis in America.

Good luck taking focus away from Iraq, foreign policy, the economy and the upcoming presidential election, its no easy task!
