It looks like the House is getting closer to acting on Karl Rove's evasion of recent subpoenas. I received the following statement via Brave New Films news release:
WASHINGTON - One day after a coalition of citizens' groups delivered a petition with 127,000 names to the House Judiciary Committee asking members ...

This is one of the funniest articles I've read in years. The best part about it is it isn't satire, it is a real "news" piece that hit the AP wire.
SAN FRANCISCO - A measure seeking to commemorate President Bush's years in office by slapping his name on ...

My faith in humanity has been very low of late. When you cover politics and read unnerving stories with regularity, it is hard to keep faith in people and life in some respects.
However, it is people like Senator Orin Hatch that lift me when I'm down. Sure, I've seen Senator ...

A federal judge dismissed a lawsuit by a man denied employment because his IQ was "too high". A New London citizen scored too high on an intelligence test and was rejected on that basis. Jordan, 48, works for the State Department of Corrections and argues that discriminating on IQ ...

Early in the campaign season, all of the buzz was about Ron Paul and the fantastic job he was doing raising money on the Internet. Now, it is time for Barack Obama to bask in the glory of being the champion of the people and what better way to measure ...

The United States is so often humiliated in the national spotlight these days. The news of Nelson Mandela being tagged as a terrorist in America's international terrorist database is not surprising. Even still, the government should make strides to shed this string of government failures and international gaffes that have ...

Many families of the Virginia Tech shooting will receive payments from the University in the amount of 11 million dollars. In exchange for this payment, the families promise not to sue the state. The settlement has been agreed upon in principle while the other families consider their options.

Mark Penn has been highly controversial and divisive according to people working for Hillary Clinton's campaign. There was a turnover in February and this latest set-back does not bode well for Hillary Clinton.
According to CNN, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, a Clinton campaign surrogate, told NBC's Meet the Press Sunday that ...

John McCain's campaign is eerily quiet right now. If not for the Martin Luther King, Jr. speech that was a major "FAIL", very little attention would be given John McCain, until now!
The surge has failed
Joe Biden made a loud statement by saying what a lot of pundits, bloggers and anti-War ...

There is so much information on the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., that I thought it might be useful to round up some of the commentary and information from around the web. I'll continue to update the page as new quality sources sprout up.
Frozen in time, CNN, Rev. Martin Luther ...

I guess I didn't get the memo, but a note online by Dick Morris actually helps to explain why Hillary Clinton continues to fight on. I have a number of theories that might explain why Hillary Clinton would try to push through the remainder of this democratic primary, but none ...

Hillary Clinton has been implying that Obama and his campaign are trying to stop people from voting. She's been trying to paint Barack Obama as anti-Democratic. Here's something she told voters in Montana:
"My take on it is a lot of Senator Obama's supporters want to end this race because they ...

The media narrative is clear, Hillary Clinton is on a path to make the greatest comeback we've seen since the comeback kid was running for President. Obama supporters are quick to point out that it's a near impossiblity for Hillary Clinton to pick up more delegates than Barack Obama and ...

While I've not officially shed my (D) tag, everything about the Libertarian party fascinates me. It's not an ideological shift that I've made, it's a philosophical outlook on life. Liberty is probably the most frequently championed idea on this blog and I'm glad Mike Gravel is making noise in the ...

Another reason for non-Americans to hate the U.S. leadership: The credit crunch will globally cost $1.2 trillion (£600bn) according to a report from the bank Goldman Sachs. When neo-conservatives comment on how Americans should not care about the opinions of foreign citizens, they're wrong. Our actions affect everyone on this ...

The latest political news to go viral is of a quote that a Clinton adviser recently made alluding to Bill Richardson as "Judas" for endorsing Senator Barack Obama. What an unbelievably crass thing to say and this continues a disturbing trend of divisiveness encouraged by Hillary Clinton supporters.
New Mexico Gov. ...

Republican war-supporters convinced America to support George W. Bush's Iraq invasion. The only real excuse aside from the overwhelming use of nationalism and patriotism to achieve political agendas was that President Bush and Administration made a "mistake", an error in judgment that should be excused. A decade after the fact, ...

Passport file breach at the State Department, Senator Barack Obama
The question that everyone will be asking is whether this was politically motivated? Condoleezza Rice promised a full investigation into the events that happened. It's not the first time this has happened, either.
Investigators found that one of the contract employees who ...

Exploring a new political party, is this idea even viable?
Senator Hagel wrote in his new book "America: the next chapter" that he felt there was a need for a new party and he suggested that Iraq might be remembered as one of the five biggest blunders in history.
In Hagel's view, ...

On the 5th anniversary of the Iraq War, only 31 percent of Americans approve of how President Bush is handling his job. 67 percent disapprove of his performance and his 40-point drop in popularity since the Iraq war started is only rivaled by the Vietnam War.
"Bush's approval rating five years ...

As you no doubt have read, today is the fifth anniversary of the Iraq War. CNN has reported a major anti-War protest in San Francisco that is resulting in threats of arrests along with a few people hauled in for obstructing traffic. Chicago, D.C. and elsewhere have experienced similar protests. ...

Over the years, most anti-War activists have hesitated to raise the question of motive with respect to the Iraq invasion / occupation. After September 11th, nationalistic unity was achieved long enough to strike Iraq and forget Afghanistan, it was deemed as taboo to bang too loudly on the anti-War drums. ...

For years, Americans have been complaining about the use of torture, violations of human rights and the death of civil liberties in the U.S. Lately, the U.S. has received a lot of criticism over judgment errors, mishandling of evidence and deceptive statements regarding international law and policy. Today, China gladly ...

NY Gov. Spitzer was destined to be a career politician. You say one thing and do another, it reminds me of something my mother once jokingly said. Do as I say, not as I do!
The fact is that morality in America continues to deteriorate year after year. This problem has ...
