Hundreds of Doctors ask Tony Blair to help them save Iraq’s children

Hundreds of doctors signed a plea to Tony Blair asking him to end the scandals of medical shortages in Iraq’s war zone (Iraq). Children that could be saved by simple measures are left to die because Iraq hospitals are not properly equipped and lack access to basic necessities.

Our troops won’t get a second chance at life, nor will the Iraqi children and other civilians that die in the hellish Iraq War zone.

“Babies are ventilated with a plastic tube in their noses and dying for want of an oxygen mask, while other babies are dying because of the lack of a phial of vitamin K or sterile needles, all costing about 95p. Hospitals have little hope of stopping fatal infections spreading from baby to baby because of the lack of surgical gloves, which cost about 3.5p a pair.”

more Iraq problems: fourteen billion dollars vanished

The latest headlines mentioned 14 of 33 billion dollars intended for relief efforts vanished last year. Of 21 billion the United States set aside only 15% is believed lost due to poor ’security.’

Fourteen billion dollars!

Will this issue be resolved? We’re busy fighting serious Iraq battles, this will likely get swept under the rug. With our growing concern over insurance fraud and lawyer settlements, why aren’t we placing public under greater scrutiny?
