Epic, the creators of the popular video game Fortnite, have excited gamers around the world with their latest announcement – a collaboration with Lego. The new game, aptly named Lego Fortnite, will be available for free inside Fortnite starting on December 7.
Players can choose to play the game solo or team up with others in multiplayer mode. It is expected that Lego Fortnite will incorporate elements of survival-crafting, similar to popular games such as Minecraft and Lego Worlds. This collaboration aims to create fun and safe digital spaces for children and families to enjoy gaming together.
Epic CEO Tim Sweeney sees this partnership as a significant step towards the metaverse, a concept that represents a virtual reality space where users can interact with a computer-generated environment and other users in real-time.
“Lego Fortnite will encourage creativity, experimentation, and collaboration through play,” said Sweeney. This new game will not only provide entertainment but also foster important skills for players.
To celebrate the collaboration, Epic is offering a free Lego skin in Fortnite. Players will have the opportunity to earn this exclusive skin through in-game activities.
But that’s not all. Alongside Lego Fortnite, two other games, Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival, will also be available within the Fortnite platform. Rocket Racing combines elements of Fortnite and the popular racing game Rocket League, offering players a thrilling arcade racing experience. Fortnite Festival, developed by Harmonix, is a music game featuring licensed tracks and classic music gameplay.
Excitement is building as the launch date approaches, and Epic promises to reveal more information about Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival in the coming weeks. Gaming enthusiasts and Lego fans alike eagerly await the release of these new additions to the Fortnite universe.
