Marvel fans were thrilled to learn that Emmy and Golden Globe winner Julia Garner is set to join the cast of Marvel’s “The Fantastic Four” as Shalla-Bal, a character based on Silver Surfer from the Marvel comics.
Garner will be starring alongside Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach in the highly anticipated film. Directed by Matt Shakman, production is scheduled to begin this summer with a planned release date of July 25, 2025.
The character of Silver Surfer was previously portrayed by Doug Jones and voiced by Laurence Fishburne in the 2007 film “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.” Garner, best known for her role as Ruth Langmore on the hit series “Ozark,” has received critical acclaim for her work and has appeared in other TV shows and films.
In addition to “The Fantastic Four,” Garner is set to star in upcoming projects such as “Wolf Man” and the psychological thriller “Apartment 7A.” She is represented by UTA and LBI Entertainment. Marvel Studios declined to comment on the casting news, which was first reported by Deadline.
Fans are eagerly anticipating Garner’s portrayal of Shalla-Bal in “The Fantastic Four” and her future projects as she continues to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry.
