Jacob Flickinger, a dual U.S.-Canadian citizen, was among the seven aid workers tragically killed in a Gaza airstrike. His partner, Sandy Leclerc, made a heartfelt plea for answers in her first television interview following the deadly attack.
Leclerc urged President Joe Biden to provide the truth about what happened to Flickinger and the other aid workers who lost their lives in the Israeli airstrike. The other victims were identified as Saifeddin Issam Ayad Abutaha, Damian Sobol, Lalzawmi “Zomi” Frankcom, John Chapman, James Henderson, and James Kirby.
Following the tragedy, World Central Kitchen (WCK) has called for an independent and international investigation into the airstrike. The organization, founded by Chef José Andrés, paused its operations in Gaza and has not yet determined when they will resume.
The Israeli government denied intentional targeting of the aid workers, with a senior adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calling such claims “absurd.” However, calls for accountability and justice continue as the victims’ loved ones seek closure.
Amidst the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, a March report warned of an imminent famine in northern Gaza. The situation only adds to the urgency of uncovering the truth behind the deadly airstrike that claimed the lives of the dedicated aid workers.
