Former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker’s testimony in the hush money trial involving former President Donald Trump and his attorney Michael Cohen has revealed a secret agreement aimed at boosting Trump’s election chances.
Pecker testified that there was an arrangement between the tabloid publisher and Trump to bury compromising stories about him while promoting positive ones. Additionally, stories attacking Trump’s rivals were published based on information provided by Cohen.
The agreement involved paying sources for exclusive rights to stories and preventing them from selling to other media outlets. One example mentioned in the testimony was the payment of $30,000 to a former Trump Tower doorman for a false story about Trump fathering an illegitimate child.
Another story involving a Playboy model was discussed between Pecker and Cohen, although Trump claimed he did not buy stories. Prosecutors are expected to ask about the agreement with the Playboy model for her silence when the trial resumes on 25 April.
These revelations shed light on the behind-the-scenes efforts to manipulate the media coverage of Trump during the 2016 election. Stay tuned for further updates on this ongoing trial on our site, ‘White Houser.’
