Google Messages to Introduce “Selfie GIFs” Feature with Custom Camera
Google Messages is gearing up to release a new feature called “Selfie GIFs” following the addition of a custom camera to the app. This new feature will allow users to capture fun and unique moments in GIF format.
Users can access the Selfie GIF feature by opening a conversation and long-pressing the camera icon in the text field. They can then record a 3-second GIF by tapping a prompt in the conversation. The recorded GIFs will be automatically saved in the camera roll for easy sharing.
While a support article for the feature is already available, it has not been rolled out to devices yet, whether in beta or stable versions. This feature will join Google Messages’ other expressive features, such as Voice Moods, which have only been rolled out to some users.
Additionally, Google Messages recently rolled out a redesigned audio recorder for stable channel users. However, beta users are still awaiting this update. With these new features and updates, Google Messages is aiming to enhance the user experience and make messaging more interactive and enjoyable.
Stay tuned for more updates on when the “Selfie GIFs” feature will be officially available to users on Google Messages.
