UConn Women’s Basketball Advances to Elite Eight with Win over Duke
In a thrilling matchup in the women’s NCAA Tournament, Paige Bueckers led the UConn Huskies to victory over Duke with an impressive 24 points. Despite facing a depleted roster due to injuries, UConn managed to pull off the win with only eight players dressed and six players seeing playing time.
This victory marks UConn’s 28th regional final appearance, with coach Geno Auriemma calling it one of the more unlikely ones in his tenure. The team will now face off against top-seeded Southern California in the Portland 3 Region final.
The upcoming matchup against Southern California will be a tough challenge for UConn, as they will have to contend with standout freshman JuJu Watkins. However, with Bueckers leading the charge, the Huskies are determined to continue their success in the tournament.
Stay tuned to see if UConn can overcome the odds and secure a spot in the Final Four.
