Sonos, the renowned audio company, has just announced the launch of its highly anticipated sequel to its first portable speaker, the Move. Aptly named the Move 2, this new version boasts several design upgrades and improved features that are sure to impress audio enthusiasts.

One of the most significant improvements is the extended battery life of up to 24 hours, a substantial increase from the original Move’s 11-hour battery life rating. This enhancement allows users to enjoy their music for longer periods without the worry of running out of power. Additionally, the Move 2 now comes with a new dual-tweeter acoustic architecture for wide stereo sound, ensuring an immersive listening experience.

In terms of design, the Move 2 comes in three sleek color options: black, olive, and white. It will ship on September 20, accompanied by a convenient wireless charging dock. Priced at $449 (£449, AU$799), the Move 2 offers excellent value for money considering its impressive features and capabilities.

One standout feature of the Move 2 is its touch control system located on top of the speaker. This intuitive control panel allows users to effortlessly play, pause, skip tracks, and adjust volume levels with a simple touch. Moreover, the Move 2 supports voice control via Amazon Alexa or Sonos Voice Control, providing a hands-free listening experience for those who prefer voice commands.

The Move 2 also incorporates a built-in microphone array used for calibrating the speaker’s sound with Sonos’ TruePlay sound calibration system. This ensures optimal audio performance tailored to individual listening environments, delivering a more personalized and immersive sound experience.

Another notable feature of the Move 2 is its versatility. It can be used as a Bluetooth speaker outdoors and seamlessly integrated into a Sonos multiroom system at home, expanding the possibilities for music enjoyment. With an IP56 rating, the Move 2 is water- and dust-resistant, making it a reliable companion for outdoor adventures.

Furthermore, this portable speaker weighs 6.61 pounds (3 kg) and is equipped with a replaceable battery, adding convenience and flexibility to its usage. It can be charged using the included wireless charging dock or via the USB-C port, which also allows the speaker to charge other devices. Additionally, the Move 2 can be connected to USB-C-equipped devices using a USB-C cable, offering even more connectivity options.
